As Design Futures Council continues to grow its platform, thought leadership, and industry influence, KM will serve as an ongoing strategic and execution partner across business strategy, website design and development, website hosting and WebOps management, ongoing content support, and quarterly P.A.M. strategy, coordination, and publishing support.

This engagement is designed to provide both strategic guidance and practical implementation so that Design Futures Council can remain focused on leadership, partnerships, events, programming, and member value while KM supports the digital systems, publishing structure, and strategic momentum needed to move initiatives forward.

This retainer is intended to create consistency, accountability, and forward progress across Design Futures Council's business and digital priorities.

Quarterly Platform Authority Mapping strategy centered on thought leadership tied to DFC events, speakers, and major industry conversations. Yuxin and Laura are responsible for authoring — KM guides strategy, content flow, editorial structure, and manages the digital publishing layer.

This structure allows Design Futures Council to maintain forward momentum while giving KM the flexibility to focus effort where it is most needed in a given month.
Monthly Retainer
$10,000
Per Month

Annual Commitment: $120,000

This retainer includes

  • Campaign oversight and refinement

Engagement terms

Term

This Agreement will begin immediately upon execution and continue for an initial term of twelve (12) months.

Payment Terms

  • Monthly retainer fee: $10,000
  • First invoice issued upon signing
  • Recurring invoices issued on the 15th of each month
  • Payment due upon receipt
  • Work may pause if payment not received within 5 calendar days

Client Responsibilities

  • Provide timely access to required systems and tools
  • Provide timely approvals and feedback
  • Coordinate on event schedules and publishing timelines
  • Supply source materials and internal inputs
  • Designate a primary point of contact

Revisions

Reasonable revisions are included within the retainer. Requests that materially expand scope or require significant additional rounds of edits may be billed separately at $250/hour, subject to approval.

Termination

Either party may terminate with thirty (30) days' written notice. Design Futures Council remains responsible for payment for all services performed through the effective date of termination.

Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

What's not included

Any work not expressly listed in this proposal is considered out of scope and may require a separate estimate or written approval.

General Out-of-Scope Work

  • Major custom development
  • Significant feature builds or custom integrations
  • Large-scale website rebuilds outside the retainer cadence
  • Paid media buying
  • Extensive standalone copywriting outside quarterly P.A.M.
  • Brand identity development
  • High-volume design production
  • Event production and capture services
  • One-off advisory projects beyond normal retainer support

Event Capture / Production Exclusion

Photo, video, interviews, and other event capture-related production services are not included in the $10,000 monthly retainer. If requested, event-related production may be scoped separately and may include:

  • On-site video capture
  • Photography
  • Speaker interviews
  • Event recap production
  • Post-production editing
  • Short-form highlight clips
  • Documentary or sponsored media

Completing and signing below constitutes acceptance of the scope, pricing, and terms outlined herein. A signed PDF confirmation will be emailed to you and to KM Digital immediately upon submission.
